What is there to see and do in colorado?
I will be driving through Colorado from South Dakota to Utah in November. Probably taking highway 25 to Denver and the highway 70 through to Grand Junction. Is there anything neat to see during this trip? I prefer really nice national monuments or nature or history, and not so much into shopping or culture or cities. I’m willing to go out of my way to see something neat. Please advize!
Colorado Springs with the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak Cog Railway and Rocky Mountain National Park probably are the two most spectacular destinations near your itinerary, although Colorado Springs is several hours south of Denver.
A visit to Pike’s Peak inspired Katherine Lee Bates to write “America the Beautiful.”

Don’t be surprised (weather forecasts for the peak are readily available) if the peak is fogged in when you visit in November, but the granite-rocked peak and the journey up will still be one of the great memories of your trip.
