Has anyone ever been to Dinasaur National Monument in Colorado?

I am doing an internship there, did you like it? can you suggest anything that i need to bring like clothing etc… Do you remember if there is a grocery store near by? Did you like the park? Any other info would be great. Thanks!

I have visited. From my perspective, it was interesting, but it wasn’t really worth the drive becuase a lot of the bones looked the same to me, since I am not an palentologist, so it got old quick (that’s just me). But if you’re interning there, I’ll presume that you’re nuts about these things, in which case you’ll probably have the time of your life since you won’t find better specimines in North America. The people who worked there seemed to big-time enjoy their jobs, and I imagine that you will feel the same.

My recommendation would be to be prepared for a lot of hot, dry days during the summer and very cold nights during the winter. You will probably also want to bring your school books, because you’ll have all sorts of questions and things that you’ll want to look up.

Also, I don’t know which side of things you fall on, but if you’re going to be interacting with the general public, you might benefit from doing some research into the creation/evolution debate so that you can politely address questions when they arise.

As for nearby grocery stores… when i was there, there wasn’t a lot nearby, but there was enough. But I would definitely recommend having a car with you if at all possible.
