national monument statue of liberty
Questions about visiting the Statue of Liberty?
I’m planning on visting the Statue of Liberty but I am a little confused, answers to any of these questions would be great.
1)How far is Penn Station from Castle Clinton National Monument in Battery Park (the place where you pick up the tickets)?
2)On the official website it said that prices for entering the statue but never mentioned any ferry prices, how much is it per adult and child?
3)Where can I find the ferry times?
4)What time should we get there if we reserve tickets?
Thanks!
I know I can find them online but I wanted to know where. I didn’t see any times on the official site.
Penn Station is about a 20 minute subway ride from Battery Park. You can also take a taxi – I would allow more time to allow for traffic. Walking is possible, but you should allow an hour or more.
The price for entry to the statue includes the ferry ride. Once you get to the island, you can do anything you want – just walk around, go into the statue, etc. Obviously, there is a charge for food at the concession stand, and there is an additional charge to go all the way to the crown (you must have an advanced reservation for that – and the last I heard, there was a several month backlog of people wanting that option).
3. Look on the internet for ferry times.
4. It’s been years since we were there, but my recollection is that the crowds were horrendous. I suggest getting there as early in the day as possible to try to get ahead of the crowd.
