How do you plan your camping trip?

I’ve checked out the area i want to go, (Bruce Peninsula, Ontario) looked at the local attractions, narrowed down to a few campgrounds for tent camping, date is set (Aug20) want to do a driving tour, boat tour, day at the beach, day at the national park, and maybe a few hours in the local town. I feel like all I’m doing is planning, when do I relax, which is what its all about, right? Its just my b/f and I, first vacation together… I guess my question is… how do you organize it all, we still have to borrow/buy all our gear too… maybe I’m just over thinking everything. Last time I went camping, I was a kid and parents did all this stuff for us!

Thanks for any tips you have

We have put together a lot of trips over the years and we like to center the trip around one particular activity or attraction. Make this one thing a priority and go ahead and set the date and time you want to accomplish this main event.

This is particularly important if we are travelling a long way to get to this activity and it is not likely we will be back in the near future.

The other activities we consider secondary. These are accomplished ,or not, depending on time available, how we feel, cost, and other opportunities that may come up.

We always plan more than we can do, just in case some of the activities don’t pan out. If you have gathered information on other activies you can go ahead and do them.

As long as we get the main event done, we are not dissapointed with the trip, even if we kick back in camp the rest of the time.
