national park dates
HELP! I forgot to take off the date stamp on my Kodak Z650 digital camera and ruined my pictures from Yosemite
I still have them on the SD card and when I open the folder that the pics are in, the thumbnails do not show the date stamp, but the full size pics do. How can I remove the date stamp from the pics I took from Yosemite National Park today?
There must be a way to access the details behind the date stamp. The thumbnail view of the photos shows the pictures WITHOUT the date stamp, so I know it is there.
I agree with the others that you’ll need to use Photoshop to clone them out. Depending on how many pics you took and what the date stamp covers, this may or may not be really difficult.
When you open the image in Photoshop, the first step is to be sure the image is displayed at 100% or larger. Then you will need to click on the clone stamp tool in the toolbar. Choose a small brush size. Then option (or alt) click in area near the numbers in the date stamp and clone over them. If the date just covers grass, it’ll be easy, but straight lines, etc. will be more difficult.
Good luck. I know my process will work, because I’m a professional photographer who has had to print photos that someone else took with dates stamped on all of them. I don’t know why camera makers include date stamping over the top of the image as an option! It only ruins a perfectly good photo!
