national park entry pass

does a national park anual pass include camping fees?

so im thinking about buying an 80 dollar national park pass , cause i will be doing a lot of traveling and camping this summer, so does this pass jsut cover entrance to the park or does it cover camping as well? what else does it cover other than entry, has any purchased one before? did they think it was worth the money? thanks for the help

With the annual pass, you’re paying the fee that gets you through the gate. After that, you’re on your own. most US National Parks don’t charge a fee for “primitive” camping…i.e. find a place and pitch a tent…but they do at least require that you register with the park ranger’s office prior to setting out for a primitive camping experience.
