I’m going to be helping my inlaws get the passes. I’m curious about experiences other people have had with them.

Abslutely. As soon as I was old enough I got one and its good for a lifetime. You can get them at any federal park in your town. In St. Louis you can get them at the Arch and at the Ulysses Grants house. They are really money savers. You get discounts anytime you visit a federally owned area. If they charge for you to drive through the discount is good for the whole carload even if they arent a seniors. You also get reduced camping fees.
