What can you tell me about Charles Town\Harper’s Ferry, WV?

I’m looking for a place where my and the hubbie can go and both have a good time. I’m a state park\national park and historical site kind of tourist and for him it just depends on the place… So is there anything that you can tell first hand about those places? (I’ve found and check out the websites already.) Thanks!

I have lived in Hapers Ferry, WV.
It is a beautiful area.
Depending on the time or year you go, depends on what you can do.
From about March thru October, there is a ghost tour. A lady walks you around the town and tells ghost stories/folk tales and ledgends, from the Civil War, very good.
There are all kinds of quaint little shops, down in the old part of town, where the ghost tour is.
If you are interested in the Civil War era, this is the place to go.
There is also White water rafting and tubing in the summer.
Antietam Battlefield isn’t too far, in Shepardstown, WV.
Also in Shepardstown is a little Barvarian Restaruant that is suppose to be very good.
Berkley Springs is about an hour or so away (NW), natural springs and spa.
If you like shopping, Fredrick, MD, Leesburg, Va (Tysons Corner) also an awesome Greek Rest. there as well (Knoss), Winchester, VA is close by.
There is a little zoo like right above Fredrick, VA and down I-81 past Winchester, VA is another small animal safari type place.
Of course if you want to go into the Washington D.C, go down toward Leesburg to Vienna/Fairfax, park your car and ride the Metro all day for about 5 bucks after 9am. National Zoo is there as well, great Zoo.
There is a lot to do, if you know what you want to do.
Hope this helps.
Have FUN!
