I need to know 12 places to visit in the east coast!!!?

Were doing a project in Geography and I need to find 3 National Monuments, 3 National Parks, and 3 Tourist Attractions to visit in the east coast.
From Florida to Maine.

City wise why not start with, NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, just those 4 have endless monuments and tourist attractions, Florida theres st augustine, and the Everglades national park go here http://gorp.away.com/gorp/resource/us_national_park/region_east.htm
