Anyone watching Ken Burn’s The National Park series on PBS?

I’ve only seen parts of Mondays and Tuesday but I’m finding it better than expected. Anyone like to share? I usually watch these kind of shows while moving around doing other chores, rather than sitting in front of TV so I miss some of the great scenery. Lots of background information about the political fights that went on, in preserving these beautiful land pieces.
“The War”, two years ago (or was it three years)…about World War II…was my first Ken Burns mini-series documentary. And the earlier time period of this current on is what I’m finding most interesting…when there was till frontier land, although hard to believe, in early 1900’s. This one is better than The War, in my opinion.

Yes I do. It’s visually breathtaking. And with an intriguing story of how these parks came to be what they are, of selfless people, poor and rich who used all their resources to preserve and promote these wonders for the enjoyment of all. It fills me with pride and a yearning to see and feel them all, also with a nostalgy and disappointment at what has happened to us as a nation that no longer we seem to care for common good and opportunity for everyone. We seem to be too selfish to nurture the idealism of America and its idea of democracy. Maybe we should all visit these magnificent natural creations more often to see how insignificant and transient we are as creatures and how we can grow bigger and eternal by dreaming, sharing and caring.
