national park new jersey fire
Does anyone know of a good place to go BACKCOUNTRY camping?
Me and my buddys get away every year to go camping/hiking. Last year was Shenandoha National Park in Virginia. I would like to find a place where we can hike in and set up a campsite wherever we want. fires are a must aswell. I know some places they are restricted. Thanks. Oh yeah, I am from New Jersey so nothing too far away. Thanks for the suggestions.
Umbagog Lake in NH has remote campsites that can only be reached by boat, during the day you can paddle round the surrounding area.
Baxter State Park – stunning. But its a hike from NJ, well worth it though. No dogs allowed in the park ever.
Other than those I would browse through the NH state park website, they have many more campsites.
