national park of florida
Why does everyone think Florida is so great?
This just boggles my mind. What is there to enjoy it besides beaches (which many other states also have)? There is no scenery at all, no nice country, no nice national parks……..nothing. The weather is horribly humid most of the year, not to mention the constant threat of hurricane activity. Most of the people there I have met are not down to earth whatsoever. Not to mention, it has the worst drivers in the country from my experience. It is merely a poor man’s Southern California if you ask me.
Every time I’ve been to Florida, I couldn’t wait to leave. Could you people who actually like it fill me in on exactly WHY? What does everyone find so great about that swamp-ridden place?
Where have you been in Florida? That’s probably why you didn’t like it. I grew up in North Florida. It is very rural with lots of small town charm. I lived near the Florida/Georgia/Alabama state lines. We would ride dirt roads, go fishing, hunting, ect. There are a lot of state parks and fabulous WHITE beaches. There aren’t any theme parks, attractions, ect., it’s just lots of family-themed fun. You never have to worry about your children being abducted, there isn’t hardly any crime, and everyone is so nice. I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t down to earth in North Florida. From about Orlando south, I’d agree about it being a poor man’s Southern California. I hate Miami.
I live in San Diego now, and miss North Florida with my entire being. I hate these dirt things that they call beaches, I hate all the people, I hate the fact that no one can understand English. Next time you try to vacation in Florida, I suggest anywhere from Pensacola to Jacksonville. It isn’t very expensive and you will completely change your mind about Florida.
