Canoeing in Ontario?

My sister and I want to go on a 3 or 4 day trip to somewhere in Northern Ontario (Muskoka or Algonquin area?)

I am the ‘outdoorsy’ type but my sister isn’t so much, so we want somewhere where we can have some nature fun, but not completely “in the middle of nowhere”.

We were thinking of being near some place where there is canoeing available, but I’m not sure what the best way to do that is. I’ve only been canoeing twice, and she once, so we’re not experts. Also, neither of us drives so we’d have to take a Greyhound bus to wherever we were going to stay.

Does anyone know of somewhere that has a place with canoeing available (I guess they’d have to be guided if we’re inexperienced? or at least on a very gentle lake or river or something?) as well as other fun things to do? (historic landmarks or tours, or national parks or bird sanctuaries or anything of the sort)

We also don’t have a lot of money so keep that in mind when suggesting options!

I am going canoeing in ontario this summer at a camp called Kandalore..It depends on your age and all though..everything is pretty much full but the girls seniors Age: 14-16 other then that I’m not sure what else is available. But if you where to sign up you would be able to get lessons and also be able to go on a trip for 5 days out of camp! But its pretty pricey! You can check out there website..called www.kandalore.com lol

Yeah so my suggestion is probably out of the Question..Sorry but I’m sure you can find other places best of luck!
