Is Silver springs worth while driving for two hours from orlando?

we are gonna stay for two weeks in Orlando. we plan to go to Tampa, St Augustine, also. Does anybody have been to Silver Springs? Is it as good as Everglade National park?(I hoped to have wild animal tour as in Everglade watching some allegators and other animals) Is it worth while going there by driving 2 hours??

Everglades National Park is pretty much nature in its natural state. If you want pristine wilderness, this is the place for you.

Silver Springs is a nature-theme park. If you want rides and organized exhibits, this is your best bet.

Suggestion: Take the scenic route. It is more miles, and maybe a little more time, but avoids “endless franchise and strip mall” un-scenery of driving through Ocala. Go I-4 east (toward Daytona) to exit 118. This is SR 44. Go west through Deland and over the bridge. Right after the bridge, be alert to take the right-hand fork in the road, which is County Road 42. You will continue west, toward Altoona, along the southern boudary of the Ocala National Forest. It’s about 10 miles to Paisley, then another 10 mile to junction with SR 19, near Altoona. Go north on SR 19 about 15 miles to SR 40, then west again. In about 25 miles you will be leaving the National Forest and be within spitting distance of Silver Springs. Juniper Springs, near SR 19 & SR 40 is a great place for a picnic and rest. There are hot showers available for afterwards, if you want to take a plunge in the cool, bubbling spring. The National Forest is pretty ‘natural’, so don’t forget to do a bathroom break in Deland. Hope you enjoy seeing our forest.
