Fishing in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, TN?

Im’ taking some kids fishing in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area and would like to get some advice on tackle. I understand you can’t use live bait (organic) and can only use single hook lures/flies.

I don’t know that area at all, although I certainly wish I did, but where I’m used to fishing there are a lot of rivers like this ( meaning that you can’t use live bait), and most of these rivers are broken down into different sections that are designated for specific types of fishing. So my point being that maybe you just heard about the rules for one section of this river, It may be a catch and release area or a fly fishing only section or something like that, and there may be another section of the same river that you may use live bait with, again I’m not sure of that area, but it could be worth a call or two to find out.
Hopefully you can find an area like this as teaching a kid to fish is best with a big ol’ juicy nightcrawler, Good luck and good for you for taking a kid fishing.
