national park ranger requirements
What education and requirements are needed to become a US National Park Ranger?
I have lost my job almost a year ago and am rethinking a career path, I am curious if I am too old for this, (35yrs.).
Like hluz_a stated, it would be helpful if you defined what type of park ranger. If want ot be a law enforcement park ranger, you must not be over 37yrs of age. For interpretive park ranger, there is no age requirements. In fact, most interp ranger I know found the calling later in life. A bachelors degree is not required for all positions, but I truly believe you will not a get a job in this day in age without it. If you do not have a bachelors degree, you may want to consider the NPS season LE training. Here is a link to those schools: http://www.anpr.org/academies.htm. With the NPS seasonal training you may be able to get on and a seasonal temp ranger. Good LUCK! Here is a good link to DOI LE jobs: http://olesem.doi.gov/jobs/fields.html
