My question is on Bushfires in Victoria Australia?

My opinion is – If the Greenies had kept there noses out of closing area’s for timber felling and Councils stopping people clearing there land around their residence plus making National Parks and closed timber mills in Victoria we wouldn’t have the fires. As there is always roads/tracks kept open to have the access to fight the fires specially in situations like Victoria is having now. I bet the Greenies are not helping the CFA fight the fires. What do you think?

What have the “greenies” got to do with it? As others have said its the Counsel and State Government that set the laws and no they arnt pro green. Most of us greenies don’t like the Victorian state government at all.

Generally speaking its these peoples faults for moving into bush fire prone areas. I live near the bush and I can see the appeal but your sitting on a time bomb at the same time. A lot of houses destroyed in the fires where not in the bush but due to the 40c+ temperatures and the prolonged drought (due to global warming) the fire was so intense it propelled its self and at times is said to have been travelling at over 1km a minute. Bush or no bush it wouldn’t make a lot of difference. Talking about national parks a lot of what was burnt wasn’t. It was farmland, Private forests and State forests. Also a lot of pine tree plantations that arnt native. (ive heard over 25% of Victoria’s pines where wiped out). As for people to blame for this no its not “greenies” its arsonist as some of these fires where lit by people.
