Anyone from Seattle and work at a Hotel there?

I’m planning to visit Seattle Aug. 2009 but don’t want to go when the hotels are outrageously expensive or it’s hard to find rooms. I’m using skymiles and it looks like Aug. 7-15th is available. Would that be a good time to visit? Also any suggestions on “must see places/attractions” would be much appreciated!! We’re planning to go up to Victoria, BC and/or driving down to Mt. Rainier/Mt. St. Helens. Or would Olympic National Park better? We’ll be there for a week is all that doable? Thanks!
