rocky mountain national park denver
What should I do in the Denver/Boulder CO area while there on vacation?
My younger brother (16 yrs) and I are going to Denver in August for vacation. We have plans to visit Rocky Mountain National Park and will be camping while we are there. Other than that we have no plans. Any recommendations as to great campsites? rafting locations? great hiking trails? must see and do’s? Thanks!
On your way into Rocky Mountain National Park check out the town of Estes Park.
I would recommend the hike to Chasm lake. The trailhead is on Long’s Peak Road off of highway 7, south of Estes. Here is more detail:

You could also drive to the top of Mount Evans, which you can get to by driving west of Denver on Interstate 70 to the Idaho Springs exit:

You might get to see some moose in the Kawuneeche Valley of Rocky Mountain National Park, which is very pretty.
Have fun!
