Whats do you think about or views on Native Americans? Do you know much about The Red Race?

I was just asking. Because I am curious. Curious of what American Society knows about the People here before European contact. I am from an Ojibwe (Chippewa) Tribe in Northern Minnesota. I am also mixed, part Blackfeet from NW Montana near Glacier National Park. Up here where I live in northern MN, There is a group fighting my Tribe, they are tuanting us, calling us down, demoralizing, and scape goating us. Its quite ugly. They print slanderous ads and editorials in the local newspapers. This is 2007 and rampant racism is fierce in the region i live. Its quietly tucked away in the northwoods. Away from the mainstream. I was wondering what your opinions are on the people. From what you know now. I want honest answers. I don’t care what they are. I am just doing research on societies views on the Native American Community. Thanks for your time and I hope you repond.

Race has become or less a social construct. It it is a way to conviently categorize people based on ancenstry and superficial appearance. As long as people stay ignorant and close-minded, racism will always persist. Native Americans are human beings like everyone else. Despite some differences in culture, I am quite sure many experiences are universal to people all over the world. Those racists need to grow up and learn that the world has to be shared among all people.
