Directions to Mammoth from Bay Area – Tioga Pass Road Closed?

Whats the best way to get to Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort from the Bay Area (specifically San Jose) when the Tioga Pass Road (Highway 120 thru Yosemite National Park) is closed?

Once 120 is closed for the winter it stays closed.
Sometimes Hwy 4 or 108 remains open or opens earlier than 120.
The only sure ways are 50 & 80 to the north. 50 seems faster in good weather.
You can drive down through the southern route but it is long. Did it once when 10’ dumped on 80 and it was closed. Swung around the south and had great powder.

Of course the fastest way to get to mammoth is to find a friend who has a plane and fly. – lol
