Visiting Yosemite From San Francisco – Good Itinerary reqd?

I am planning to visit Yosemite national park from San Francisco.I have booked a hotel for 1 night at Oakhurst.I am planning to use the accomodation only for the night stay.I am travelling the next day afternoon to South Lake tahoe.

Can someone suggest a good itenary for this trip in Yosemite.I am interested in visiting places only by Auto and with a short walk ( 1 Mile ) ?

I am so excited for you. I just did the same thing last year. I stayed at the Yosemite View Lodge.
For one day, I think the Valley is not worth it. There are a ton of tourists on big buses, there is not much to see that you wont experience elsewhere.
Definetly drive up to Glacier Point, its a must! You will see everything from there! The valley, waterfalls, Half Dome, its gorgeous.
Then, I would suggest driving down to Wawona and take the hiking trail to see the Great Sequoias. You will see a bunch of famous named ones on the way and its not a long walk at all.
Thats it! You will defiently be able to do this in one day!
Make sure at night, take a look outside at the sky…there are so many stars that you cant see when living near a city.
Have fun!
