zion national park kolob arch
Which one to go — Zion or Arch?
I’m taking my parents for a short trip to Utah in early Nov. We only have one day to visit one of the national parks. My parents aren’t fans of hiking so it will mainly be driving and stopping by for photos shootings. I heard both Zion and Arch national parks are good places to see arches….but I can only go to one since we only have a day~ Which one should I go? Or is it anyway to visit 2 parks in one day? If so, how to arrange this?
I heard Kolob arch at Zion is quite good, but it takes 14 mile hike to see it..my parents definitely cannot walk that long~
Advice anyone?
We will be departing from Salt Lake City and head towards Vegas. Only have one day to visit either Arches National Park or Zion..
Help me out here what’s your starting point?
If you start in Las Vegas and ruse this exact routing for your internet mapping service you can get 4 NationalParks out of it
Rent a car w/ a V-6 bc you will have a lot of climbing and passing to do
Lv LAS at sun up
LAS>Mt.Carmel Jct UT.> Escalante UT >
Hanksville UT>Moab UT . Just an incredible road .
Except for the National Park* segments most of that trip is driven at 10 +mph qbove posted and you will lose an hour as son as you cross the NV/AZ state line
You will need to spend the night in Moab
* If you’re going to be doing 4 parks you may as well get an annual Parks Pass at Zion NP bc it will save you money.
Edit
If you go SLC >Moab > LAS it’s 705 miles
If you go SLC > Moab > Escalante > Mt Carmel Jct > LAS it’s 753 mile across some of the best scenery in the West
Your call I already know what it looks like
